TED TALKS ON FASHION

Cameron Russell is an international model, she have work for Vogue, Victoria secret and so many brands like Ralph Lauren. She think looks aren't everything, and talks about the fashion industry and photography.

First of all, before start talking, she change her outfit, for a simple one. And I think she has changed her clothes, for focus the talk in what she really want to say and no how she looks. She says image is a superficial thing, that we see what the photographers wants us to see, and clearly all the photos are retouched.

And also adds that all the photos we see of her, we don't really see her. We see a look or a character that has been created for a group of stylist and photographers.

She says that she is surprised for the percentage of girl who are not compfortable with their body, and, the entire fashion industry has created a model of perfect girl, and all the gils who are not like that model feel bad because they believe they are not pretty enough. And partly for that reaseon image is superficial

I totally agree, with everything she says, and I think more models should discuss issues as well.

Why is death a taboo in western culture?

It is a fact that, te word death and its meaning is a taboo. But why is it a taboo?  In my opionion, it's for things that it generally involves. I agree that death is not a pretty thing but not for that, it must be a taboo?

As I see it, people don't want to talk about it , because of we all have a family member or a friend that pased away, and is not nice talk about that person. Althought everyone knows it's part of life.  Another reason is because often we don't want to talk, thing about death until it happens. We don't want to thing about end of life. And also in some cultures it's forbidden to talk about death.

It's clear taht it isn't a good thing to think or talk about it, and we know that involves a sad feeling and amoments, but death althought it's not a good event, exist and everyone has to go throught this, so we only need to take it in the best possible way ad talk about it without any problem, because it doesn't need to be a taboo.

WHAT IS THE BEST STAGE IN THE LIFE?

We talk about this in class, and I think it's a very interesting subject. In my opinion, the best stage of life is adolescence. Why? So easy because although we have a lot of pressure and responsibility in the high school, we do not have half of worries that adults.

We do not have to pay anything, the light, the house .. Our only responsibility is to study.

Yes, this stage is complicated because we are growing, and our opinions are changing. But I think that according to the adolescence you have will be one type of person or another in life.


So for these reasons I think it is the best stage of life, although I believe childhood is one of the most beautiful stages of all.

Palafrugell trip

As I said in my previous "your-say", this summer me and my friends Laura, Maria, Irina, and Jana.

 We went on a mini vacation, from a week to Palafrugell. And if I have to describe this week with a word, it would be incredible.

Okey, first of all we planned this trip two days before we left, it was all very improvised, Jana was in Platja d’Aro with her family and told us if we wanted to go for a few days, the others, we said yes instantly.

The first day, our plan was to go to the beach, to spend an afternoon of relaxation and we ended up going by boat to Palamos. We bathed in a cove, and it was incredible.

On the second day we went by boat again, this time to S'agaró, we ate there, and in the afternoon we went to a swimming pool in Platja d'Aro where we stayed until the evening.

I will remember that day always, because I stayed half asleep on the boat in the sun and the result was that I burned only a part of the body. I remember one side of the neck red and the other normal.

The following days we went to the beach and stayed on the floor.

If I learned anything on this trip, is that the best things always happen without being planned.

My Summer

This summer has been amazing, I think the best summer I've spent. To begin with, a few days after school ended, with my friends we had a Hawaiian party to celebrate the beginning of summer.

 During these months, I spent the afternoons in the pool of my town with my best friends, those evenings were incredible. And many or all of the weekends, I went to a parties in towns near my own.

 What I liked the most this summer was a little trip that my friends and I made to Platja d'Aro, we stayed in another friend's apartment for a week and it was so fun. I think this summer changed me a lot, now I'm not as shy anymore as I used to be, and I made a lot of new friends that with only  3 or 4 months. They have shown me more than friends that I have of many years ago.

 And as both me and my friends wanted to do that summer,  the best summer. We recorded a lot of videos of the trip and parties and stays, and in August, I made a video with all the videos, so now we can see all the things that we spent together.

What about my favourite youtuber?

If I had to choose a favourite youtuber, then I would choose Dulceida.  Why?  Because I admire her so much and her job, it’s amazing.  

She started to be famous years ago writing a blog, and then she finally opened an account in youtuber.

In this days she has her youtube account, and every week uploads a new video, then she has Instagram where she works promoting  so many brands, both clothing , makeup and jewelry. 

And thanks to all this, he has opened an online clothing store and has written a book.

Apart from this she works on the divinity fashion show "Quiero Ser". Where she is a fashion advisor.

I think that we believe that she really don’t work or do anything but if you stop to think about all the work she has, it is really amazing that thanks to a blog, She has managed to get where she is.

Giant sinkhole in Japan repaired in matter of days

Some days ago, a giant sinkhole which had swallowed a chunk of road of a city block in the Japanese city of Fukuoka, has been filled in only a few days after it appeared, and this is a testament to the Japanese engineering and efficiency.

After the sinkhole appeard, a group of subcontractors had worked around the clock to fill in the the 30 meter (98 ft) wide, 15 meter (50 ft) deep hole by the 12th with a mixture of sand and cement. 

This job was so complicated but after that it only took another 48 hours to reinstall all the utilites, and resurface the road. There were no reports of injuries.

This gaping hole -- which started off as two smaller ones before merging into the larger cavity -- appeared only a 300 meters from  one of the city's main transport hubs.

My opinion

I'm completely surprised about this news, first of all to the giant sinkhole that had appeared it’s so big, amazing and then for  the speed in which it has been fixed.

I am completely sure that if this happened here, in Spain, it would take months to fix it. So I admire so much japanese work. 

Pyramids are scanne

This news talks about Pyramids, because for the first time ever scanning technology’s been used on pyramids.

The results of this project, indicate and an anomaly in the Great Pyramid, that could uncover secrets of other ancient Egyptian structures, and that’s really amazing. 

This project is a collaboration between the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities, Cairo University and the AHIP Institute. And the objective is make and aims to map millennia-old pyramids in Giza as well as discover hidden chambers and secret passageways. 

Some experts say that this new project will be the start of a new science and more researches for the Egyptologist, and especially those who are interested in the ancient Egyptian architects.

The anomalies that have been found continue to shroud these iconic monuments in mystery, but with this project continuing, it’s hope that more insights into pyramids, and indeed history, will be made.

I think it’s really amazing how the the world moves so fast. I really liked this news, this project that they had made it’s incredible, and I hope they can discover many more things about the pyramids and about the people from the past. 

US Election Special

Donald Trump refuses to say whether he'll accept election results

This new talks about the second debate of Hillary and Donald, and have diferent parts.

First starts with Donald Trump, saying that he refuses to accept the election results if he is not the winner, he also spoke of "hombres," language that could offend Latinos and finally he referred to Clinton as a "nasty woman."  His campaign manager sought to blunt the election comments.

Hillary for her part, said her competitor's remarks were "horrifying" and accused him of taking refuge in the idea that any event that turns out against him.

As the debate went on Trump continue harshly criticizing Clinton. The debate began to take a turn when Trump and Clinton clashed over the Republican nominee's relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

They also talk about Trump's treatment of women and they end talking about economy, Clinton said that under her economic plan, the payroll taxes of both herself and Trump would go up to ensure the solvency of Social Security.

My opinion

I’m with Hillary, because I think Donald is a bad person

, that he only want to be in the power, and he and does not care anything or anyone

I really don’t like Donald I think he is a racist and a sexist, and he is not a good candidate to be president of USA. But if I have to say one thing about him that I “admire” would be his power to influence people and make them their opinion about the things.

I clearly believe that Hillary is so better than Donald, she fight for women's values, and she is so nice with everyone. One negative thing about her is that in the past, she  lied about some emails, and this fact says a lot about how she can be.

I choose this song, because I thing it's a good one, I like this one more than the others, and I think that what talks about it's interesting. 

In this song Tracy Chapman I think is talking about of an idea to a revolution to win corrupt governments, is protesting about the diferences that are with the rich people ( politicians) and the poor people. He is trying to reflect the society in the song, and propose a revolution (a change).

This song was released in 1988 in the Reagan/Bush era.

I choose this song because talks about many things, It's a protest song with questions that people may say cannot be answered, and comparing them to the Civil Rights Struggle. And every question is based in a diferent concept.


“Blowin' In The Wind” is Bob Dylan’s first single of his second album The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan.

In the 60s this song was like an anthem for black people.

My presentation

What I like to do is reading books and listening to music,so this is one of my hobbies apart from watching movies and series. So I usually spend my time doing things like these. 

A perfect plan for me would be spending a night or an afternoon, reading a book or watching a movie.

Another thing that I really like is photography, because it's amazing how one person can reflect so much beauty and feeling in only one picture. 

My favourite colour is black, because it's simple and neutral. I think it's a beautiful colour.

I'm really excited about this year but a little scared, because it's a big change, but I'm going to do it, the best I can.

I don't know what I want to be in the future, I have a lot of ideas but nothing certain yet so I have these 2 years to think about it.

I although remember the fist day of Eso, I was a little scared because in my old school we were only 10 students in class. But, I adapted inmmediately. In this four years good and bad things have passed, I have exert myself, I have seen who are my real friends, and especially, I've grown up as a person, and I'm so happy for that.

I gonna miss so much my class, and my friends because although not all of us were friends,  are 4 years together.

This last 2 years, I have felt better with myself and my real friends, and I'm so happy because my grades have improved so much.

And that's all, now is the time to a new chapter in my life, and I'm so excited study so hard and make my dream to become a business owner.

Experiences

I have already been to a concert. 

It was two years ago, and was a One Direction concert. This is one of my best experiences ever, hearing their voices in live, was an incredible feeling. 

I have already had a dog.

When I was 5, I had my first dog, It was a cute experience because I was very small and I was afraid. 

I have already been to Italy. 

I think it's one of these experiences that you never forget. Because I spend the time with my friends and was incredible. 

I haven't been to USA yet.

I haven't been to USA yet, but I can wait to go. In few years, I would like to visit the difference states of the USA. 

I haven't lived in California yet.

Living in California is one of my dreams, and I hope someday  I can live there. And in the future I want to spend a couple of months or one year there.

I haven't had a tattoo yet. 

In the future I want a tattoo, a little tattoo with a special meaning, I really like tattoos but the little ones, I'm so excited to get it, but at the same time I'm scared. 

Gigi Hadid

Gigi is my favourite fashion model, she is so beautiful, and she's only 21 but she has a long  career ahead . She started working when she was 2  Paul Marciano of Guess discovered her. She works for IGM Models, like Kendall Jenner and Hailey Baldwin. 

These last 2 years she had walked for a lot of designers like Marc Jacobs, Chanel, Michael Kords, and this last winter she made her first appearance in the Victoria's secret fashion show with her best friend Kendall Jenner. 

She is my favourtie model because besides being beautiful she has so much talent and is an amazing person. She is always nice with her fans and she really has an amazing sense for fashion. Her looks are amazing, especially her street style.
